WHO WE ARE

  • Sikh Sewaks Australia is a non-profitable organization, based in Melbourne. It was formed in 2010 to help the Sikh community grow – religiously, economically, and culturally while helping Sikhs assimilate as well as become independent and good contributing Australian residents and to give back to the wider Australian society through our community service programs and make Australia a better place for all.

  • To provide a platform to individuals, families and the whole Sikh community to connect with each other, grow as a family and community, in all areas of life- Religiously, Economically, Culturally and reclaim the "Wow factor/"Shain-Shahi" that Guru Gobind Singh Ji blessed us with- through Sewa, Simran and Gursikhi Lifestyle.

WHAT WE DO

FINANCIAL AND WELFARE ACTIVITIES
  • Making available a support system to Students and new migrants to Australia

  • Providing accommodation and food until they are able to stand on their own feet.

  • Helping migrant families and students acquire rental accommodation

  • Providing them with basic furniture/amenities, if needed.

  • Enrolling them into the SSA job network, so that they can find suitable jobs

  • Helping students to resolve their Visa and PR issues

  • Helping needy and deserving students with tuition fees.

  • Extending financial assistance to deserving families

  • Providing Advice, Guidance and Seminars on Financial Planning and Property Investment.

  • In special circumstances, Sikh Sewaks Australia has also loaned money (with no interest) to help individuals with their house deposits – in order to avert problems and avoid financial crisis.

SHELTER AND FOOD
  • Providing Shelter and Food to needy students and families, as well as to new immigrants and families that move to Australia.

  • Shelter for domestic violence and domestic dispute victims. 
  • Helping migrant families and students acquire rental accommodation and providing them with basic furniture/amenities and helping pay rental where needed. 

  • Providing an atmosphere of extended family- a sense of belonging and love

  • Providing a platform for discussion of common family issues - upbringing children, education planning, mentoring and growth in all areas of life.

DOMESTIC DISPUTES HELPLINE AND SUPPORT
  • Sikh Sewaks Australia has also been extending support to resolve domestic disputes and to domestic violence victims. We have a 24/7 helpline service.

  • Families and couples are given religious and general counselling with both preventive and corrective measures. Cases that need professional and legal assistance are accordingly handed over to the appropriate persons.

  • Helping families in crisis and resolving disputes & issues i.e. Financial, Student Visa and Fees etc.

  • Providing an atmosphere of extended family- a sense of belonging and love

  • Providing a platform for discussion of common family issues - upbringing children, education planning, mentoring and growth in all areas of life.
